Skiing offers a different perspective on New Zealand's alpine landscapes. During winter, the Southern Alps offer a range of experiences, from commercial ski fields and private clubs to backcountry terrain accessed by helicopter.

Experiences can include skiing and snowboarding at destinations such as Queenstown and Wānaka, as well as guided backcountry adventures and heli-skiing in remote mountain ranges.
