Muriwai offers an authentic links experience, set on exposed west coast dune land 50 minutes from Auckland City. Wind, firm turf and natural movement define the course throughout.
Established in 1924, the course occupies a remarkable stretch of natural golfing terrain, where fairways weave through dunes and native vegetation beneath the constant influence of the Tasman Sea. Muriwai’s 17th is its version of the classic ‘Postage Stamp’—a short par three where accuracy matters far more than distance.
Muriwai’s signature hole is the downhill par-three eighth. From an elevated tee, with the Tasman Sea beyond, the challenge is controlling your ball flight and distance in the prevailing westerly wind.
